In Media, we are still creating our preliminary magazines. We are looking at different sell lines, fonts, mastheads and images to use for the magazine front cover and contents page.

Looking at the power points and presentations from last weeks lessons, I have been looking at which shot types I will use for the different images, and which angles I will base them at. I have chosen to use a side shot image, but my image is not of a person but of the School building as it is a school magazine. There is no specific lighting, as it is taken outside.

To see what my target audience would see in a School magazine, I started a questionnaire to hand out to 13-16 year olds.

This week in media, we have been looking at how to start our preliminary magazine. Our preliminary magazine, is a school magazine which will guide us on what we would need to know for our actual magazine (music). To make the contents page and front cover, we looked at different power points and presentations on different shot type and lighting.

This week in media, we learnt how to photoshop images by using tools such as the 'Sharpen Tool', 'Quick Selection Tool', and 'Mixer Brush Tool'. These tools are useful to use for making magazine covers which we looked at, and also tried to make in the lesson. Through the lessons this week, I have gained some knowledge on how to use photoshop. To further strengthen my knowledge on photoshop, I watched tutorials on YouTube.

My first ever Media lesson!

In the first lesson, I learnt how to use Photoshop. I took an image of Google, and used it as a guide on how to use the different selections of tools, and where/when to use them. I wrote the word 'IMAGINE' at the top, as a guide on where the masthead would be on a magazine of any genre.

In this image, I used the 'blur' and 'quick selection' tool.
